Summary of Thesis

Hemorrhoids are vascular cushions in the anal canal that acts as a comfortable barrier for the anus. Their exact cause is not fully understood but current theories suggest that deterioration of these cushions leads to hemorrhoid formation. Excisional hemorrhoidectomy is a common and effective treatment for severe cases. Postoperative symptoms include bleeding swelling discharge anal itching and pain with pain being the most immediate and distressing.
