Summary of Thesis
The incidence of childhood dental caries with widespread geographic distribution has become a worldwide oral health concern and is attributed to the increased intake of carbohydrates and lack of proper oral hygiene practices. The treatment of dental caries in children focuses on preventive intervention with topical application of fluorides and restorations when the lesion is confined to enamel and dentin when untreated due to negligence ignorance or non-availability of adequate dental care facilities in remote area the carious lesion progresses with the involvement of the pulp dentin complex leading to infection and subsequent extraction resulting premature loss of teeth.
