Myxoidliposarcoma is a malignant mesenchymal tumor that frequently occurs in soft tissue. It is a variant of liposarcoma that is characterized by its usually deep localization. Primary superficial dermal or subcutaneous localization would be extremely rare. We report in this work a rare case of primary superficial myxoidliposarcoma of the knee in an adult discussing at the same time the clinicopathological features of this rare entity. Our work reflects the interest of evoking the diagnosis of a myxoidliposarcoma even when it comes to a superficially localized mass especially when the tumor presents a fast growth. The prognosis is certainly better than the deep forms and the treatment is essentially based on surgery, but the clinical and histopathological data are not yet fully available for this superficial form because of its rarity.
