The malignant rhabdo?d tumor (MRT) is an aggressive rare tumor usually diagnosed in young children, its location in the soft tissues of the head and neck is exceptional only 13 cases have been reported in the literature We report the case of a female infant aged 18 months, who presented for 5 months a retro-auricular mass left gradually increasing in volume, measuring 2 cm long axis, painless, fixed relative to the deeper level, with slightly erythematous skin look. Brain CT objectified process soft retro-auricular left parties without intracranial extension. The infant received a excisional biopsy which histological examination revealed a diffuse proliferation of rounded or polygonal cells with eccentric nuclei, prominent nucleoli and glassy eosinophilic cytoplasm containing hyaline-like inclusion bodies The character vesicular nuclei and pseudo-epithelial appearance to raised the hypothesis of a rhabdoid tumor, immunohistochemical complement revealed a poly-phenotypic characteristics and loss of nuclear expression of INI 1. Malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRTs) are aggressive neoplasms, that was originally defined as a distinctive neoplasm which developed in the infant kidney This tumor may also develop in other sites extrarenal. The location at the soft tissues of the head and neck is extremely rare.
